The Travelling Brides were approached by many bridal couples to put a forest wedding together in South Africa, and what better place to do a forest wedding than in the Tsitskimma forest itself. The Travelling Brides team of wedding consultants approached Irma who runs the Tsitsikamma Lodge in the area, and with Travelling Brides 25 years experience in the wedding industry, guiding Irma who has the most magnificent creative style imaginable, a stunning forest wedding was born.

How the forest wedding became so popular

After doing the first forest wedding in 2009 and having the photographs launched on some of the top wedding sites around South Africa, The Travelling Bride was flooded with enquiries from South Africans and bridal couples abroad. Everyone fell in love with the forest wedding setting. Irma created a beautiful log arch structure surrounded by the forest with benches made of logs, a registery table from tree stumps, decorated the entire little area with lillies and fernery. A magnificent wedding setting that is romantic and very different. Irma then got all the necessary suppliers involved like photographer, minister, florist, violinist and more and everyone agreed to give good prices in order to promote this beautiful wedding package which took off immediately.

The log cabins are warm and friendly and couples travel from far and wide to spend their honeymoon dream here. Weddings are simply beautiful and very stress free with Irma looking after the bridal couple the entire wedding day. Romantic weekends are a plus and rates are very affordable and service so outstanding, it will see all couples returning year after year after year. There are many activities offered and cuisine at the lodge is just out of this world and there is something to suit everyone.
